Teenage Whore - This song is a big FUCK YOU to Courtney Love parents and society. Courtney Love is singing about the hurt and anger she had as a child. This is not a happy song or even a fun song. It is meant to let her mother know everything she did was wrong. When she says "when I was a teenage whore, my mother asked me she said baby what for, I give you plenty why do you want more?" I think she is saying ? "mom, what about the love? the caring and understanding things I needed?" she is telling her mother "look how I turned out and it's because of you!" she is also talking about the material things she never had "I said I wanted that shirt and I want those pants" we all know people Courtney love was not a teenage whore.. this is one of the best songs to analyze and look for meanings in.

Teenage Whore - I agree with Lilly that it's about cloves parents. I think it was also about when she first started stripping & her parents didn't approve." I've seen your repulsion and it looks real good on you" I think it's also bout how clove was moved around so much & that she felt her mother or father didnt want her. "i said i feel so alone and i wish i could die. seen the things you put me through and i wish i could die" It's a very angry song.

Teenage Whore - I think that this song is the way that Courtney saw her Partners on the School, she think that they have been stupid brainwashed girls, heartless and so empty. I understand Courtney because i feel the same in mi stupid country The 90% of the girls are Teenage Whores and the boys are a Hooker.

Teenage Whore - i feel this song represents her frustrating childhood - her mother married several times her mother was a hippie her mother is ashamed to be her mother - her mother had no love for love - she was kicked out on her ass by her mom her aunt her dad by all she was brought into this world by she was rejected.

Teenage Whore - This song is about her experience when she was a teenager. The part "my mother ask me she said baby, what for? I give you plenty why do you want more?" have two meanings. At the end of the song, Clove says" I wanted that shirt and I wanted those pants", so one of the meanings of what her mum told her was that she thought she gave her material possessions enough and she didn't understand why Courtney was a stripper. The second meaning is that her mum didn't understand that CL wanted affection and love ("I feel so alone and I, I wish I could die"). But it's not only that. It's also about how some people don't want to see things that could make them feel guilty and burst their bubble("get out of my house!!").

Babydoll - I think this song is about Kat Bjelland. She was just kicked out of her band a second time. This is also a very angry fuck you song." here you come sucking my energy /and you suck it up right off the street ha" I think is about how clove felt Kat stole from her." you are you are so much bigger than me /and a babydoll /my raw hand my fever blister /watch me watch me watch me disappear" I think this refers to how babes in toyland & kat were much bigger than hole. And again how she felt Kat was ripping off her look and it made it look like clove was ripping off Kat.

Babydoll - I actually got the impression that it was about rape when I heard it. I thought that when she says, "You are so much bigger than me." that it's about a big, strong man holding her down. Then there's the part about the pants being undone and that's another hint.

Garbadge Man - I think this song is about being in a relationship with someone who is probably cheating on you or about to leave you. "Where the fuck were you when my lights went out?!" is a cry for her lover's attention. The whole song is about being trapped by this other person ("Come on, let me out!") whether she likes it or not because of her emotional attachment to him. "Everyone of you looks the same, everyone of you feels the same" shows how no matter how many guys she tries to love, the girl still ends up heartbroken in the end.

Garbadge Man - I thought it might have been about the town she grew up in about how everyone is the same there. When she says "Everyone of you looks the same and everyone of you feels the.

Sassy - I think Sassy is about a person that you hate so much "Why are you..Why am i here?. I donīt care" and this person is so stupid for you " Youre so stupid I would done anything for you honey your reputation is a shit in this town".

Good Sister/Bad Sister - a song about having to personalities and being torn between being good and doing what you know is right and being one who wants to rebel against all you know that's good. a violent song and sad. a sexual song also. Courtney wants to show she has testosterone but not to much. "I'll be the biggest dick that you ever had, you want it bad you want it bad" in this song is sound like she is having a bad trip, talking about a sugar star who comes to talk to her. In this song you can feel the loneliness she feels and sings about.

Good Sister/Bad Sister - i think this song was written about kat bjelland. courtney said kat was like a sister to her and maybe this is a song about how kat can be a good and bad sister. "better burn that dress"maybe means that kat was copying courtney and how courtney wants her to stop. "i try but i cant and i want to so bad" maybe refers that Courtney wants to be cute and girly with guys like kat is, but she cant. "i'll be the biggest scar in your back " kat is like that to courtney becasue katwas a major influence on courtney, but at times it was painful and it left a scar. i dont know if that is what courtney was writing about, but that song seems to describe their relationship. just my thoughts on it.

Good Sister/Bad Sister - i think that this song relates back to the time when she was living with her siblings. its obvious that this was not a happy time for young Love.i think that since her siblings were treated with more fairness she had to compensate by doing "bad" things to get attention. thats where the term "badsister" came from.

Good Sister/Bad Sister - This song is about her relationship with Kat Bjelland. It's about something that a lot of girls(including me) have to live. It's about when you have a friend that you really like, like if she was your sister but that girl doesn't always treat you well. Sometimes, you feel like you're only something like a scar for her: something annoying that you have to live with. But Courtney wants to tell her to stop saying that SHE invented the babydoll look and that Clove copied her but she can't. And then "Better watch your back sister" means that she won't let Kat treat her like that anymore.

Mrs Jones - this is strictly opinion... but i find my own opinion worthy of mentioning...so here goes....i think this song is about an abortion. the after effects and even possibly the effects during the time spent deciding that you are terminating a pregnancy...it caught my attention that some of these listed lyrics are incorrect but, nonetheless, i think this song screams a secret message to the fetus/baby mostly being that the subject is sorry but shit gets in your head and it seems that you are making a kindly decision...maybe the subject was convinced to abort.. maybe apologizing to God.. herself or the huge massive pall of guilt that hangs relentless...there were reasons however shitty...an apology to a fetus... a love.

By shirley

Mrs Jones - I also think this is a song about abortion, but I think it is about a botched abortion (as seen in the part where she goes "sorry baby you will never stink so bad) I think that the abortion was power trip for the doctor, who I assume is a man, and that he lords over this power (he has her where he wants her...with her legs wide open and her eyes all spread) So I think overall, this is about assholes who like to lord their power over desperate women and they end up fucking them up. But the woman isn't helpless.

Berry - Berry is about her relationships with men. Rozz is the main one. He put her through hell, and she went back to him. So this is like a big "Fuck you rozz I am fucking kicking ass here, and you wish that you could be here with me!" That is what I think because Courtney has been through a lot of shit, and is just telling everyone that has ever hurt her in any way that they will get theirs.

Loaded - I think it's about a near death experience. It's about getting very close to the edge, feeling like everything is about to end (I think that the "Weird Red Light" symbolizes death), and then get really peaceful. It's hard not to tell it has something (if not everything) to do with drugs, but I think it's more then that. It's about the ups and down we go through in life - the songs starts with a rush, some fast music, adrenaline, danger, and then you have that slow, weird kinda hallucinated chorus ("And now I'm loaded...") which is way more relaxed. And of course, there's the old familiar POTI anger in many forms and shapes such as "Don't blush when I rip you open", "Better open your eyes when I come down" etc...

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

By Lilly

Loaded - a drug song. she wants to feel things but whenever this get to rough she slips back and go to the drugs. drugs she uses don't have to be the kind you buy- i.e.-heroin, dope. etc. they can be love, envy greed. She says "you better open your eyes when I come down" I get the feeling of rejection and over powerment. a lot of death and p.o.t.i. hatred in this song.

By GarbageMan

Loaded - Loaded is about heroin to me, and what you see, or do while you're on it. I mean, "don't blush when I rip you open" and "slug me open, and suck my scars" seems like someone doing needle point on their body to me.

Starbelly - i look at this song kind of like a drug trip.....maybe she was referring to a specific drug trip, or maybe all of them. its a very distorted short song that kind of leaves you on the edge, wanting more. wanting to know more. kind of like a drug. you try it once and you're hooked. i also looked at this song in a lifetime perspective. kind of like the song itself is displaying life. its short, it goes by fast, its confusing, and not everyone will like it and appreciate it.

Pretty On The Inside - This song is the ultimate beauty rebellion song. It mocks people who say "I don't care about external beauty, all that matters is what's on the inside" and then go and say no to a girl just 'cause she's ugly. In a very angry, gut-ripping sort of way, it presents the point of view of girl who's obviously ugly, but always had been told: "But you're pretty on the inside" that girl screams :"Fuck you !! stop trying to make me feel better about myself, when you're the ones who think beauty is more important than internal beauty".

Pretty On The Inside - I agree with "shany" (above me!) I think she said it all. but, I would like to add that the song had would be hypocritical of Courtney to write a similar song today. Even though she kinda did on Celebrity skin. (reasons to be beautiful) Because she has changed her image too much. It aint too trustworthy coming from the new courtney. the actor/model with "fake" tits and a even faker smile.

By Anita

Pretty On The Inside - This song refers to external beauty. I think that the lines "Is she pretty on the inside/ Is she pretty from the back" refer to the facade that beauty is. "Is she pretty from the back" I think also means that not everyone is perfectly beautiful, it has some imperfections, some flaws. Sometimes, if you look under something, or inside something it is not beautiful all the way through, only part of it is beautiful.
"There is no power, like my pretty power" could be a reference to Courtney feeling she is not beautiful as such, but she has her good points which outway any physical beauty that another person has over her. There is no power like her pretty power because it comes from the inside, overriding the outsides appearance.

Pretty On The Inside - This song is especially meaningful to me because I can relate to it. It's about how you are judged by how you look on the outside - like if she's ugly on the inside, she must be ugly from the back. And you can see that so much in society, because in movies the ugly people are always playing the 'evil' characters.

Clouds - This is obviously about changing, maybe growing up. Same as the clouds- changing with every minute, so are people. In this song, the environment is having trouble accepting the changes the speaker is going through, and that fact is makes him/her seeing things in different way, seeing the whole picture, seeing the bad side of things and snap out of the illusion world she/he lived in for so long ("I've looked at clouds from both sides now"), and at the same time, something from that time remains ("But still somehow - it's just illusions I recall"). The music is very monotonic (2 chords throughout the song), and I think that the purpose of that is that you'd pay attention to the lyrics, and the story of the song.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

By kim

Clouds - I personally think that this song is about realizing all the choices you make in his/her life were at the time the BESTTHING they can think, but in retrospect there were a million things he/she could've done that may have helped the subject a hell of a lot more than their actual decision. And he/she are really walking these paths only because of whatever HANGUPS they are facing... like the clouds are just dreams of a way out of whatever mess the subject could be in. And I honestly think that its about coming to a conclusion that for one second he/she lived ass backwards but the DREAM of the escape seemed brighter than the so called good thing/right thing.the clouds are dreams/hangups/time wasters...they just SEEM like worthwhile hits because its easy to become swallowed. but they are never reality...never will be. they just get in the way of the smarter side.

Clouds - The clouds represent men in her life and how her opinions on men have changes. How, because she has focused too much upon sexual relationships, men have held her back. In this song she thinks that the idea of men being good is illusion i.e. her kidding herself.

Clouds - This song to me is about an acid trip. I recognized this the most when she says "When angel dust gets in your eyes and hair, on acid stars your gettin there". And the part where it's like "the dizzy dancing way you feel" cuz that's how acid feels. To me, it talks about how her head is in the clouds and how she never wants to come down from this high.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

By GarbageMan

Clouds - clouds to me seems like someone who's kinda been at that drug world for a long time, and is kinda realizing that it's not for them anymore, and that they want to try to do something useful with their lives.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

By donna

Clouds - I think the song is a way of showing the change and realization in her life... From seeing clouds like icecream castles..and floating around on acid stars..angel dust and angel hair... it shows the beauty of the cloud but then compares it to a time when theyve rained and snowed on her...this is a way of lyrically saying...every good has a bad...and what you see is not always what youget... I can see alot of drug references in t refering to the high shes gettign and the acid fantasy's im sure many can relate to in it... and also when she talks of her friends shaking their head and saying shes changed... the song may be talking about drugs.. but with its feminine descriptive lyrics it makes it almost seem as if it is something everyone should try...
